Contradiction

I wonder why some people just don't want to listen to what other people want to say.
Parents always tell us must listen to what people say,but now what i experience is they don't wan listen to what we want to say.
They don't listen what are our explanations.
When we are having problems and want to get some advice from them,in the end they just say you are so useless,such thing you should do it yourself and then tell them what are the solutions.
However,when we get the solutions,then they will say it is wrong.
When you take action and try to solve the problem,they will say why not get advice from them..?Since they are more elderly and know more than us.
It is contradiction.
Sometime I feel lost and don't know what should I do.
Which action should i take and what decision should I made ?
I think I still got a long way to go to figure it out.
